Road Trips Rule!

Whether you’re in Northern California cruising down to Newport Beach, heading from Los Angeles to the mountains at Lake Tahoe, in the mid-west looking to explore Yellow Stone National Park or escaping the craziness of New York City and heading Nantucket, road trips can be a great way to see the country, spend time with friends, and leave the work week’s worries behind (at least until the following week).

With gas prices soaring, it’s hard to find someone who is willing to bite the bullet and offer up their car for the long drive.  And let’s face it, that person normally gets stuck footing the bill for the trek.

However, with Serve, we are making it simple for you to get paid back on the spot for your gas money. You can instantly send and receive money via email, text and/or Facebook.

In addition to using Serve, below we have listed out a few tips that will help your road trip cruise by:

  1. Load up on snacks: The car is a guilt-free location for snacking. We can’t survive a road trip without Smart Pop, Chex Mix, Pretzels and lots of chocolate.
  2. Timing. Timing. Timing: Time your trip just right.  We like leaving late at night or super early in the morning to avoid bad traffic.
  3. Have a great play list: Nothing makes a drive more enjoyable than some good tunes. (If you need ideas check out Songza!)
  4. Have fun: Don’t stress if you get lost. Getting a little lost is half the fun!

Let us know how you plan on using Serve to split the costs and help you hit the road with your friends this summer. No better time than now to jump in your car, crank down the windows, blast your favorite summer jams and just enjoy the drive. Just don’t tell your boss that we encouraged you to play hooky!
